Zerda started with a simple, frustrating question that kept coming up on engineering projects:
“Where did all the hours go?”
As engineers, we were constantly juggling project codes, spreadsheets, and over-complicated enterprise tools—just to answer basic questions about time and personnel costs. The tools we tried were either:
Bloated with features we never used,
Locked behind cloud accounts and subscriptions we didn’t want, or
Fragile Excel sheets that broke the moment a team grew beyond one person.
We didn’t want another “platform.”
We wanted a tool—something small, fast, and trustworthy that lived where we work every day: on our Windows desktops.
So we built Zerda.
Inspired by the agile fennec fox, Vulpes Zerda is your lightweight, high-speed timesheet solution.
Zerda is a lightweight Windows application designed from the ground up for people who think in projects, deliverables, and time budgets.
Under the hood, it uses C# and .NET Framework 4.7.2, with a SQLite database that can sit on your own PC or a shared network drive. No servers to maintain, no cloud to depend on.
Every design choice reflects how engineers actually work:
Project & Deliverable Focus – Time isn’t logged into a black box. You register hours directly against concrete engineering deliverables.
Calendar-Style View – A clean, weekly overview lets you see your time at a glance and enter it in seconds.
Fast, Native Experience – No loading spinners, no “connection lost” messages—just instant response.
Zerda is not trying to be a full ERP system. It’s a professional utility that does one job extremely well:
Track time, Control budgets, And help you Stay focused.
We believe accurate time registration is more than an administrative task—it’s the foundation for transparent collaboration and better decisions on both sides.
For employers, it means:
Real-time visibility on time budgets and cost overruns.
Reliable, historical data for future estimates.
A clear view of project health and resource allocation.
For employees, it means:
Proof of performance based on real work.
Fair handling of overtime and workload.
Less ambiguity, more clarity about where time goes.
Our mission is simple:
Empower small teams to manage personnel costs with transparency, speed, and zero complexity.
From day one, Zerda was built around a few non‑negotiable principles:
True Data Ownership
Your data stays on your machine or your company’s network. Nothing is sent to external servers. You decide where it lives and how it’s backed up.
Zero Friction
Install and start using it. No mandatory registration, no onboarding calls, no “create an account to continue.” Just a tool you can open and trust.
Lightweight & Legacy-Friendly
Not every team runs on the latest hardware or OS. Zerda is designed to be resource‑friendly and compatible with Windows 7+ environments.
Reliable by Design
With built-in backup and recovery and careful handling of multi-user network usage, Zerda is built to protect your data—even when something goes wrong.
Transparent Pricing
Clear, straightforward options: low-cost subscriptions for flexibility, and one-time licenses if you prefer to “buy it and own it.”
Small businesses and engineering teams often have the same responsibility as large organizations—delivering on time and within budget—but without the luxury of a full IT department or an expensive tool stack.
Zerda is made for them:
Teams asking: “Are we over budget?”
Managers asking: “What did we actually achieve this week?”
Professionals who want to move beyond messy spreadsheets, without jumping into a full enterprise cloud platform.
If you budget by time, you can use Zerda.
Engineers, consultants, creatives, project managers—anyone who cares where their hours go will feel at home.
Zerda is currently in a testing phase. That’s intentional.
We want to refine the experience with real teams, real projects, and real constraints—before calling it “done.” Early testers help shape:
The daily workflows,
The small UX details that make time entry effortless,
The safeguards that keep data safe in real-world environments.
In return, they get to use Zerda early and experience the benefits of a focused, engineer-centric time registration tool.
Zerda exists because engineers got tired of losing control over their own time and data—and decided to fix it.
If you:
Want a better way to track personnel costs against real deliverables,
Are done wrestling with slow, over-complicated cloud tools, or
Simply want clear, honest insight into where your time goes,
then you’re exactly who we’re building Zerda for.
We’d love to have you as part of the journey—whether as a tester, a future user, or someone who simply believes small teams deserve professional tools without enterprise complexity.
